The Board of Supervisors this month dedicated a showcase for environmental education and volunteerism: The Bill and Jean Lane Education Center at Edgewood County Park and Natural Preserve.
The Educational Center celebrates the preserve’s biological diversity and will serve as a portal to the natural wonder to be found in Edgewood, a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers at the western edge of Redwood City. The center is named for longtime Peninsula philanthropists Bill and Jean Lane. Jean Lane spoke at the dedication ceremony that included all members of the Board of Supervisors.
