San Mateo County invites you to ride in the Tour de Peninsula, one of the Bay Area’s premier recreational bicycle rides. This family ride takes place on Sunday, August 7, and offers a variety of bicycle routes on beautiful courses designed to suit everyone from young children to serious cyclists. Riders start and finish at Coyote Point Park in San Mateo.
Riders can chose from three routes: 20 miles, 31 miles route or 63 miles, a metric century (100 kilometers). Four rest stops will keep riders fueled and volunteers busy. Riders depart on the 63-mile route at 7 a.m. while the rest start at 8 a.m.
There are also activities for kids, including a short ride in Coyote Point Park. All are welcome at the CuriOdyssey museum, which is offering free admission for all participants and family.
After the ride, wake up those tired legs with music from the Tribal Blues Band and enjoy a picnic brought from home or purchased from concessions on site.
The Tour raises money for the San Mateo County Parks Foundation and supports car-free biking on Canada Road.
