Two major transportation routes in San Mateo County will be closed over the Labor Day Weekend: a section of Edgewood Road between Interestate 280 and Alameda de las Pulgas and the Dumbarton Bridge.
The closure of Edgewood Road will begin Friday, August 31, at 10 p.m. and last until Tuesday, September 4, at 6 a.m. Traffic will detour to Cordilleras Road but motorists should expect delays.
During the closure the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will install a water pipeline across Edgewood. Details about the closure and a map can be found on the SF PUC’s project website. For any questions or concerns about the construction, call the SF PUC’s 24-hour project hotline, 1-800-571-6610.
The Dumbarton Bridge will be closed in both directions from Friday, August 31, at 10 p.m. until Tuesday, September 4, at 5 a.m.
During the closure crews will strengthen the bridge to withstand earthquakes. For a fact sheet and more information about the project, visit http://dumbartonbridgeinfo.org/ For more information, contact the State Department of Transportation at 510-384-3651 or info@dumbartonbridgeinfo.org
