Sawyer Camp Trail will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, November 5 and 6, as crews for the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System complete a time-sensitive revegetation project.
San Andreas Trail will remain open. Please see the project’s website for bicycle detour information.
Sawyer Camp Trail stretches from Crystal Springs Road just west of San Mateo to Hillcrest Boulevard west of Millbrae and is the most popular tail in San Mateo County.
The replanting that is underway along Sawyer Camp Trail is timed to coincide with the start of the rainy season, and must be precisely sequenced. Hydroseeding will continue along Sawyer Camp Trail through November.
The work is part of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s (SFPUC) ongoing $4.6 billion Water System Improvement Program to repair, replace, and seismically upgrade the aging Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.
The SFPUC will make every effort to keep the entire trail open during construction whenever possible. Please visit www.sfwater.org/SCT, call 24 hours a day at (866) 973-1476, or follow on Twitter: @sawyercamptrail.
