Once a treacherous stretch of Highway 1, the 1.3-mile trail can now be used by hikers, runners, cyclists and horseback riders. The paved trail features spectacular views along with benches and observation scopes.
Visit www.facebook.com/CountyofSanMateo to view photos of the trail and from today’s grand opening celebration.
Parking lots at each side are open 8 a.m. to sunset year round. Each include a bike rack, drinking fountain and toilet.
